Meet the Troupe
Joanne Green, Artistic Director
Joanne has been teaching theatre arts to children and young teens for
over ten years. She has taught "Song and Dance" at the French American
International School in San Francisco, and has created and taught the
YMCA after-school drama program in both Los Angeles and San Francisco.
She has taught theatre arts at the Redding School in the Tenderloin
district of San Francisco. She is currently teaching basic acting and
improvisation at Drew Preparatory High School, also located in San
Francisco.
Ms. Green has studied with some of the most reputable acting teachers in the county, including William Esper in NYC and Shirley Knight in Los Angeles. Ms. Green has also been a member of the prestigious "Groundling Improvisation Troupe" in Los Angeles. In addition, her first one-person show, "Loudmouth Chowder" was nominated for "The Best Solo Show of the Year" award by the LA Weekly. Currently, Ms. Green is working on her second one-person show and hopes to be in production by next Spring.
Danny Shorago, Troupe Leader
Danny is a writer, filmmaker, actor and musician. His work has appeared
at the Cannes and Sundance film festivals, on European television and
on HBO.
He can currently be seen and heard performing in clubs and on radio, as
the lead singer for several bands. Danny's credits as a voice actor
include work in radio and television, film, video, video games, and the
web. He likes Spaghetti-o's.
Lydia Frye, Tour Director
Lydia is thrilled to be performing with Curtain Up! When Lydia is not
being seen on San Francisco stages, she teaches hip-hop to young
children. She is also a creative arts coach and mentor for troubled
teens and young adults. She is also training for her very first
marathon!
